It's been a while since I've gotten the time to really go on an extended ride. A lot of my riding lately has been up the massive hills of my neighborhood trailing a bike trailer with 80lbs of child behind me...ouch! But apparently all that towing was great training for my legs because I was powering through hill climbs today that I've always had trouble with in the past. My buddy and I had so much fun. Another 12+ miles in the bank.
Happy Father's Day, Dads!

Happy Memorial Day from The Dirty Tire!
Well, with two kids now and a new, very demanding job, I haven't had too much time to ride in some of the great places we have around here like Patapsco, Gambrill or Schaeffer Farms, but thankfully we have a great trail system in my neighborhood, right across the street.
One of the best parts of all of this is that my neighbors are now getting into mountain biking so I've had a bunch of great guys to ride with. Even better, we all got a pair of magicshine bike lights. They work great and let us ride even after the kids go to sleep at night. I never thought I'd be one to go night riding, but it is an awesome experience.
Last night my buddy and I got in a great 7 mile ride, full of technical stuff, stream crossings, climbs and some fast, non-technical stuff too. I included the map of the ride below. The bike is holding up great and I'm looking forward to a great summer of riding.
Happy Memorial Day everyone!
